Required Documents: What You Need to Register for Fuel Relief

Important: This page lists documents for two separate programmes. The PM Fuel Relief Scheme 2026 is a federal programme (register via SMS to 9771). The Maryam Ko Batayn (MKB) Programme is a Punjab provincial programme (register at mkb.punjab.gov.pk). They have different document requirements.

PM Fuel Relief Scheme 2026 — Federal (SMS Registration)

Registration for the federal PM Fuel Relief Scheme is done entirely by SMS. No physical documents are submitted to any office. However, the following information must be correct and at hand before you send your SMS.

Your 13-digit CNIC Number

Your Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number — all 13 digits, without dashes. This is included in the SMS text. The CNIC must be the same one under which both your SIM and vehicle are registered.

Vehicle Registration Date (from your Registration Book)

The date your vehicle was first registered, in DDMMYYYY format. Example: 2 September 2026 → 02092026. You can find this date on your vehicle's Registration Certificate (log book / RC book).

Tip: You do not need to submit the registration book physically. You only need the date printed on it to complete the SMS.

Province Code (First Letter of Your Province)

The registration SMS requires the first letter of your province.

Province code caution: Only Sindh = S is confirmed by name in official reporting. If you are not in Sindh, verify the correct letter from the official SMS channel or a Ministry of IT & Telecom publication before sending — a wrong code means a failed registration.

SIM Registered Under Your Own CNIC

The mobile number from which you send the registration SMS must be registered under the same CNIC as the one you include in the message and the one under which your vehicle is registered. Family members' SIMs registered under a different CNIC will not work.

Registration is free. There is no fee, processing charge, or agent cost. Each SMS costs Rs. 1.25 plus applicable tax. If anyone asks you to pay to register or submit physical documents to an office, it is a scam.

SMS format reminder

Maryam Ko Batayn (MKB) Programme — Punjab Documents

Separate scheme: The MKB programme is a Punjab provincial initiative. It is not related to the federal PM Fuel Relief Scheme. Registration is through themkb.punjab.gov.pkportal, not by SMS to 9771.

The following documents and information are generally required when registering or verifying eligibility through the Punjab MKB portal or Helpline 1000:

Valid CNIC

A valid, unexpired Computerised National Identity Card issued in your name. Must be a Punjab resident CNIC.

Mobile SIM Registered Under Your CNIC

A mobile number registered under your own CNIC is required for OTP verification during the portal registration process.

Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) Eligibility

Your household must be registered in, or eligible for registration in, the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER). The portal checks this automatically when you enter your CNIC. If you are not yet registered in PSER, you may be directed to complete that registration first.

Household Income and Composition Information

The Punjab MKB programme targets low-income families. During the portal or survey process, information about household size, monthly income, and assets may be collected.

Check the official portal: The Punjab MKB programme document requirements may be updated by provincial notification. Always verify the current requirements from the officialmkb.punjab.gov.pkportal or by calling Helpline 1000 (Punjab province only; not a federal PM Fuel Relief Scheme helpline).

For the federal PM Fuel Relief Scheme, no physical CNIC copy is required. You include your CNIC number (13 digits) in the SMS text sent to 9771. For the Punjab MKB programme, the mkb.punjab.gov.pk portal may request CNIC verification through its online process.
